The sewerage or sanitation network is 34,200 metres long, with gravity conveying the water to the Beniel Wastewater Treatment Plant. Due to the town’s terrain, there are currently no wastewater or rainwater pumping stations in the municipal sewerage network.
The diameter of the network ranges from 150 mm to 1,000 mm and the main material used is concrete.
The number of sewerage connections is around 1,090 units (including domestic and industrial connections, among others).
There are a total of 733 manholes, approximately 625 in the town centre and 108 in the suburban districts. With regard to gutters, there are approximately 1,253 units, mostly in the Beniel town centre.
The whole network system is mapped and traced by a GIS computer application, offering greater control for preventative and corrective network maintenance.
